DEIB photography is a practice that emphasizes diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. It involves intentionally representing and amplifying voices, stories, and perspectives of individuals and communities from diverse backgrounds, including those that have been historically marginalized or underrepresented. DEIB photography aims to challenge stereotypes, promote understanding, and foster empathy by showcasing the richness and complexity of human experiences. It involves actively seeking out and providing opportunities for individuals from underrepresented groups to participate in and contribute to the creation and consumption of visual narratives. As a DEIB photographer, I prioritize creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and respected, regardless of their unique identity markers. I understand and respect that everyone has their own pace, preferences, and comfort level in front of the camera.
